1. Attend the Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony

Join in honoring those who died in service by attending the city of Manitowoc’s annual Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony.

The parade begins at 9 a.m. May 27 on the corner of South Eighth Street and Washington Street. The route heads north on Eighth Street, turning west on Huron Street.

The Memorial Day Ceremony follows at the Veterans' Memorial across from Evergreen Cemetery on North 18th Street.

2. Tour the Rahr-West Art Museum

This summer, the Rahr-West Art Museum, 610 N. Eighth St., is presenting monthly drop-in exhibit tours with museum staff and experts.

The first tour is set to take place at 2 p.m. May 23. During this tour, museum Curator Diana Bolander will cover the life and work of Mary West, whose work is currently featured in the Vilas-Rahr Mansion’s Nash Library.

Tours are free and open to the public. Registration is not needed.

3. Sip at the Sub Pub on the Water’s Season Preview Night

The Sub Pub on the Water, Wisconsin Maritime Museum’s rooftop bar, is kicking off its season early with a Season Preview Night from 5 to 10 p.m. on Memorial Day May 27.

A family-friendly venue, the Sub Pub features both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, games and great views of the river and lakefront.

The Sub Pub is open 5-10 p.m. every Thursday and Friday throughout the rest of summer.

4. Experience 'A Taste of Ireland'

Hot off its Off-Broadway premiere, “A Taste of Ireland: The Irish Music & Dance Sensation” comes to the Capitol Civic Centre at 7:30 p.m. May 24.

Throughout the evening, attendees will want to laugh, cry and jig the night away as they’re transported through the story of Ireland’s tumultuous history.

The performance includes Irish dance champions, melodic folk mash-ups, heartwarming stories and more!
