Peacock has kicked off the holiday season with the first trailer for Genie, a fairy-tale comedy about a workaholic man who enlists the help of a magical genie to help win his family back before Christmas.

The film stars Melissa McCarthy and Paapa Essiedu, with Alan Cumming, Luis Guzmán, and Marc Maron in this heartwarming festive tale which looks akin to Will Ferrell's Elf.

Written by Richard Curtis, who has previously penned scripts such as Love Actually, Notting Hill and About Time, the film is based on his 1991 teleplay, Bernard and the Genie.

Sam Boyd directs, with Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner as producers from Working Title and Universal. Caroline Jaczko serves as executive producer alongside Melissa McCarthy, Nicole King, Stacy O'Neil, Alexandra Loewy, and Sarah-Jane Robinson.

Genie will debut on Peacock November 22.
