Melissa McCarthy

Melissa McCarthy understood the assignment when dressing up for a recent viewing party for RuPaul's Drag Race, with the actress going for an extravagant look of sparkles and bright colors.

The Little Mermaid actress posed beside her husband, fellow actor Ben Falcone, while wearing a silver sequined bodysuit with a bold magenta jacket covered in large sequins. She paired the outfit with silver dangling earrings and equally shiny rings.

Meanwhile, Falcone also stepped up his fashion for the occasion, wearing a black rhinestoned shirt under a black zip-up jacket and a wide plaid patterned pair of pants.

Explaining her fashion inspiration for the night, McCarthy wrote, "Coco Chanel once said 'Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take at least one thing off.' I am not Coco Chanel. I say PILE ON! 🪩💫🎉."

"Last night’s look for @rupaulsdragrace viewing party with @adamshankman and @benjyfalcone!! TY to @sarahhsuttonhair and @afton for my glam!" she went on.

"You’re always a GIFT and the brightest light! Shine ON! ❤," complimented a fan, as another shared an outfit suggestion: "I think a crown would be the perfect addition."

"This woman is a national treasure! 🙌," wrote a third.

Drag queen BenDeLaCreme commented, "Thank you for always dressing for the theater even if the theater is TV. 🙌."

McCarthy had a special surprise for the drag queens on the newest episode of RuPaul's Drag Race when she appeared as the "assistant" on set as everyone practiced musical choreography.

This led to an emotional moment for the star, who told the contestants, "When I look at you carving out your space, it makes me so proud. And I just want to thank you for it and root for you. You're all gorgeous and I just love you."

RuPaul's Drag Race is currently airing season 16, with new episodes on every Friday. Along with McCarthy, many other celebrities make appearances throughout the show as judges and mentors.
