Melissa McCarthy Dressed Like the Star That She Is at the 2019 Golden Globes

Melissa McCarthy had to do a lot of her own stunts for her newest movie, SPY. And, as a result, she got hurt quite a bit during filming. Bumps, bruises, pulled muscles, you name it, Melissa probably injured it. Dammit! Who puts a roof on a scooter, what are you, the pope? But she told Seth Myers Tuesday that she took her biggest tumble when she was heading to the spa to get a massage when she was finished filming for the day. What? And I wiped out so hard. My feet were above my head, and I had enough time to be like "Oh my God, I'm falling!" [LAUGH] I really got, I got incredible height. I threw my back out for two days Oh no! Trying to get to a massage. Poor Melissa! The actress said she had to walk by a marble swimming pool to get to the Spa, nd it was so slippery, she ate it right then and there. Trick is to just relax your legs. Read it on wikiHow. And to make matters worse, her director, Paul Feig, was there to witness the whole thing. Talk about embarrassing! Thankfully, Melissa was able to shake the injury off in just a few days and keep going. But, she told E! she wasn't sure she'd be able to go on at first. "We spent the whole week trying to get me walking again. It was intense and it was kind of at the beginning of the movie. It was a little dicey." Well, we're glad the actress is such a tough cookie. And we can't wait to see her other, more successful side, when Spy hits theaters on June 5th.

Comedy queen Melissa McCarthy was nominated for her second Golden Globe this year (and her first in a dramatic film), for her leading role in Can You Ever Forgive Me? She didn't win, (Glenn Close ended up with the trophy), but we still need to talk about McCarthy wore on the red carpet, because it proved that she is truly a star.

In 2016, when she was nominated for Spy, the mother of two glimmered in a metallic gunmetal blue Kimono-style gown that she designed herself. To add to the ‘70s vibe, McCarthy wore her deep brown locks parted down the middle in loose curls cascading down each shoulder.

This year, the actress arrived at the Beverly Hilton in an actual star-studded gown. McCarthy wor a bright purple Reem Acra dress (via 11 Honoré) with a matching sash and silver star-shaped embellishments trailing down the bodice. She completed the look by wearing her hair loose curls at her shoulders and a coral lip.

She may not have scored a Golden Globe at the show last night, but with a look like this, she won either way.
