Melanie Lynskey’s Valentine's Day Tribute to Jason Ritter is the Sweetest We’ve Seen

Melanie Lynskey had the absolute sweetest message to send to husband Jason Ritter to honor him on the day of love for everything he's brought to her life.

In a photo posted to Instagram on the evening of Feb. 14, 2024, the Last of Us alum and her hubby seemed to be offering their take on the painting "American Gothic," with Ritter holding a bright orange rake and Lynski grasping a metallic hoe, both giving the camera a tight-lipped, nearly non-existent smile.

Alongside the comical snap, the actress issued a laundry list of qualities she wished to thank her husband for, which included, but was not limited to, "being a real cutie," "making fun of me in a way that makes me feel seen and celebrated and also makes me cry laughing," "always choosing to watch the reality show even though you’d rather be watching documentaries," "being the best dad our sweet daughter could possibly have," and, "working so hard on yourself for the last ten years and making any of this possible."

"I love you, Dringus," she cheekily signed off before offering her "bestie" Clare Buchanan photo credits for the pic.

For his part, Ritter took a page out of Ryan Reynolds' book, gently trolling his wife for the occasion with a cropped photo that seems to be from a theme park ride, where he's having the time of his life while Lynskey sits stoically with her eyes clenched shut.

"Happy Valentine’s Day to the loveliest there ever was," he wrote, in part. "Thank you for being who you are, thank you for loving me in such a way that you inspired me to strip myself of the mask I can sometimes wear out in the world, and allowing me to show you the parts of myself that even I was afraid to look at. (And also, sorry you had to see all that stuff 😅) I love you with my whole heart, and you and our daughter make coming home the most joyous experience a person can ask for."

The couple have been together for over a decade, though they weren't married until 2020, in a small ceremony at their Atlanta home. The two share a 5-year-old daughter, whose name and face are both kept out of the spotlight.
