Melania Trump met with local children as part of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots Drive at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling in Washington D.C. yesterday.
For the event, the first lady opted for a seasonal combination of a navy peacoat layered over a white turtleneck sweater and cream cigarette pants. Melania then used her choice of footwear to add a hit of print into the ensemble.
The former model opted to boost her 5-feet-11-inches frame in a set of teetering stiletto heels. The statement pair was coated in multi-color checkered uppers with hits of festive red and green mixed in; the heels come from one of Melania’s go-to brands for footwear, Manolo Blahnik.
Titled the brand’s BB pump silhouette, the heels featured a classic pointed-toe design inspired by French style icon Brigitte Bardot. Set atop a 4-inch heel, the pumps typically retail for $695 though Melania’s pair, in particular, has since sold out.
“@ToysForTots_USA has taught American’s that kindness & the act of giving is a timeless & can be done at any age. Thank you to the @USMC & @JBABdc for hosting another wonderful toy drive & making sure every child has a present to open on #Christmas morning,” wrote the FLOTUS in her caption on Instagram today.
When it comes to heels, the first lady oftentimes prefers styles from two prominent brands in particular: Manolo Blahnik, of course, and Christian Louboutin. In addition to her Manolo BB pumps, the first lady favors the towering Louboutin So Kate design, a style with a 5-inch heel and a retail price of $725 at Net-a-Porter.
When she isn’t in heels, Melania Trump herself has also been spotted in flatter styles like her pair from Roger Vivier as well as shorter heels from Dior. Her designer-filled selection of apparel as well includes pieces from Ralph Lauren and Gucci, as well as bespoke designs from her personal stylist, Herve Pierre, former creative director for Carolina Herrera.
For a festive take on holiday attire, add these plaid heels to your own footwear rotation.
