Melania Trump Bucked Tradition for the SOTU
Breaking with a longstanding modern tradition, First Lady Melania Trump chose to arrive separately of the President to tonight's State of the Union address. Per CNN, the Trumps will head home together later.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders addressed their separate arrivals earlier, saying it was for "no reason other than she can greet the guests and he can go straight in."
Melania also rode to the Capitol with her invited guests, a group of American emergency responders, service members, workers, and people who've lost family to violence, the New York Timesreports.
The Trumps haven't been seen together publicly since New Year's, after which news broke Trump had allegedly had a longstanding affair with porn star Stormy Daniels back in 2006.
