Mel B Is Not Coming Back to 'AGT: The Champions' At All

From Good Housekeeping

In September, NBC announced that joining Simon Cowell and Howie Mandel on the judging panel for season 2 of America's Got Talent: The Champions would be Heidi Klum and newcomer Alesha Dixon.

As viewers likely know, it's almost the same judging crew from season 1 of Champions, except with the exception of Mel B. Naturally this raises one big question: Why did the network tap Heidi to come back to judge Champions after she walked away in season 13 ... but not the beloved Spice Girl?

Right after the network revealed the list of judges, Mel B quickly congratulated her replacement on Twitter and had nothing but positive things to say about AGT, making us think that she had an amicable split from the variety show.

"Congrats my lovley [sic] you will have an amazing time, it’s a great show to work on with great people, look after my girl @heidiklum," she tweeted at Alesha.

Around the same time, The Daily Mail reported that the performer was living in Leeds, England (where she's from originally) with her mother after wrapping up her Spice Girls tour with bandmates Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell, and Melanie C. Mel had previously hinted to The Sun that she would love to move back to England from Los Angeles some day for the long haul: “I love doing X Factor and I love the U.K. so if that opportunity came up and I had time to do it, then yeah.”

Although she isn't on the X Factor currently, Mel did secure a judging gig on the U.K.-based TV show Celebrity Juice. Besides that, her IMDB shows that she's also been busy appearing on various TV shows and helping write for series such as Verão 90, Single Parents, and iZombie.

Judging by her Instagrams, Mel is still living in Leeds with her daughters and having a blast doing so. Even though AGT fans will definitely miss her witty banter with Simon this Champions season, it looks like Mel is happy doing her own thing, and that's all that really matters.
