Meghan Markle's Suits Co-Star Rick Hoffman Shares a Rare Throwback Photo
Meghan Markle has largely retreated from public life this year, following her and Prince Harry's dramatic exit from the royal family in 2020, and the birth of their daughter Lilbet this summer. But her former Suits co-star Rick Hoffman shared a throwback photo to a different era of her life, back when she was starring in the USA legal drama.
"Good ol days," Hoffman captioned the photo, which shows him toasting the camera alongside a laughing Markle. It's not clear where the snap was taken, but it's possible the two are getting drinks at a bar in Toronto, where Suits was filmed. Markle played paralegal-turned-associate Rachel Zane for seven seasons, while Hoffman appeared in all nine seasons of the show as petty attorney Louis Litt. Hoffman was one of many Suits actors who attended Harry and Meghan's 2018 wedding, along with Gabriel Macht, Patrick J. Adams, Sarah Rafferty, Gina Torres and Abigail Spencer. At the time, he described the experience as "out of a dream".
Markle has remained close with many of her former co-stars. A couple of years ago, Suits co-lead Adams—who played Markle's on-screen love interest, Mike Ross—posted a sweet series of behind-the-scenes photographs of her on set.
Hours after her engagement to Prince Harry was announced in 2017, the duchess discussed her decision to leave her acting job, describing it as a new chapter. "I don’t see it as giving anything up. I just see it as a change," she told the BBC. "Keep in mind, I’ve been working on my show for seven years. We were very fortunate to have that sort of longevity on a series. For me, once we hit the 100 episode marker, I thought, I have ticked this box and I feel really proud of the work we’ve done there and now it’s time to work as a team with [Harry]."
