Meghan Markle's Return to Acting Sparks Big Reactions: 'From Palace to This'

Meghan Markle is dusting off her old acting shoes.

The former Suits actress recently returned to her roots while making an unexpected cameo appearance in a new social media ad for coffee brand Clevr Blends—and users online have some thoughts.

Markle, 42, played the role of a super hard-working new hire at the coffee company in the new Instagram ad, and even though she didn't have any lines, she still became the star of the show.

While the brand's CEO Hannah Mendoza gave viewers a tour of the company's headquarters, the Duchess of Sussex could be seen in the background of every scene, from helping to fulfill orders to typing away on a computer with the digital team.

"I want to give a huge shoutout to our amazing Clevr team here at HQ. Without them, we are nothing," Mendoza said at the start of the clip, without ever introducing Markle by name.

But even without an introduction, fans could clearly tell it was Prince Harry's wife in the clip, especially at the end when she walks right past the camera after failing to give another employee a fist bump.

In the comment section, the reactions to Markle's cameo were strong on both sides, with some haters calling her "desperate" for acting in an Instagram advertisement.

"From palace to this 🤦🏻‍♀️," another user commented, while someone else called it a "Drastic fall from Grace," following Markle's formerly held title as "Her Royal Highness" before deciding to step down from royal duties.

One hater called Markle's acting job in the clip "cringe," while another judged the company for even including her in the ad in the first place, writing, "How to lose customers."

But others were totally on board for Markle's role in the witty clip, including one user who thought the video was "absolutely genius."

"The new hire deserves a raise and bonus and benefits. She is a multitasking Queen. Clearly," someone noted.

"Love this..nice team you have there. Queens Only 😍" someone else added, while another dubbed Markle the most "hardworking person ever."

"This is a royally great video 🤌✨" another fan quipped, as another simply described it as a "Cinematic MASTERPIECE 🎥🎞️🫡."
