Meghan Markle's Montunas Scarf-handle Mini Bag Is on Sale for Black Friday

When Meghan Markle attended the annual WellChild Awards last month, she donned the slim fitting Parosh dress she wore to her engagement in 2017, but this time, it was her acetate bag with a silk scarf handle that made the statement and, quite frankly, broke the internet.

The bag in question is by London-based brand Montunas by Costa Rica native and ex-model Elke Ruge and her two daughters Amanda and Elena Hawila. “It sold out within hours,” said Amanda of the bag whose inspiration came from the planters and pots used at the Montunas Orchid House in Costa Rica. The scarf handle can be worn short, the way Markle styled it, or long for versatility. “This was a different kind of look for Markle. It was fun to see her embodying the core values of our brand: traditional with a twist,” she continued.

The brand’s first bags designed by Ruge were created out of necessity as she was balancing young children and travel, and all have subtle nods to her upbringing in Costa Rica.
