During the apocalypse everyone will probably be wearing low-rise jeans. The look is chaotic evil. Sometimes low-rise jeans have thongs attached to them (Jennifer Lopez has been spotted in a pair). More often than not they’ll expose your actual thong (if you’re Paris Hilton, it’s probably on purpose). But they always, always make it impossible and awkward to wear almost anything. And for all those reasons and many more I won’t waste time listing here, I imagine when the world ends we’ll all be wearing them. That and the fact that they’re said to rise to popularity again in 2020, which is dark, but true.
We’re only 23 days into January and the world is quite literally on fire, a Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston reunion is not so unlikely, and Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have exited the royal family. Nothing is impossible or unlikely or surprising anymore. Fittingly, Meghan Markle’s favorite low-rise jeans are finally back in stock too because why not.
Low-rise jeans are controversial, and yet Meghan Markle has caused the DL1961 Emma Ankle Skinny Low-Rise Jeans to sell out on multiple occasions. Talk about chaotic. But if there’s anything the ex-duchess can do it’s convince us to buy into a trend everyone on the internet has been dreading for years. Hell, she’s made me consider straight-up quitting my family. Plus, the Goodyear wash is maybe just what we all need to manifest some better energy for 2020.
Now that Megxit is official, everyone, myself included, is hoping she revives some of her least royal looks. Crop tops! Hot-pink bodycon dresses! A very deep V! Let the woman live. And who knows, maybe that means she’ll wear a pair of those infamous thong low-rise jeans. It’s 2020 and anything can happen right?
Until then, we’ll be shopping Meghan Markle’s pair of DL1961 jeans below.
