Meghan Markle's Best Friend Shared a Supportive Message After the Sussexes's Big Announcement
In the aftermath of the shockwaves from Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's decision to step back as senior members of the royal family, Meghan's close friend Jessica Mulroney appeared to share a strong message of support.
On Wednesday, the Canadian stylist shared a quote on her Instagram from American filmmaker Gina Carey, which read, "A strong woman looks a challenge in the eye and gives it a wink."

Mulroney obviously didn't name the couple in her post, but commented a heart on journalist Katie Couric's Instagram post of the news, and comment on the couple's announcement Instagram, and has been known to defend the Duchess of Sussex publicly in the past.
While it's been reported that the royal family was made aware of the Sussexes's plans to step back, the Queen was reportedly "disappointed," and surprised by the announcement itself.
"Discussions with The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are at an early stage," a statement from the Queen's office read. "We understand their desire to take a different approach, but these are complicated issues that will take time to work through."
On Wednesday, Meghan and Harry announced on their Instagram that they would be stepping back as senior members of the royal family, and would be dividing their time between the U.K. and North America, as well as working to become financially independent.
"After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution," their statement read. "We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen."
