Meghan Markle Wore a Very Special Piece of Princess Diana’s Jewelry

This isn't the first time the duchess has worn the sentimental accessory.

It's royal custom to wear heirlooms and jewelry passed down by members who came before, and although she's no longer a senior royal, Meghan Markle still pays tribute to her late mother-in-law Princess Diana in many ways, specifically with her choice of accessories.

In a new video from Los Angeles non-profit Fisher House Foundation, Meghan is seen wearing Diana's gold Cartier Tank Francaise Watch styled with a blue-and-white striped button-up and black trousers. The reel, which is narrated by Meghan and captures her meeting with veterans and families, was filmed when Markle visited the foundation last month during the lead-up to the Invictus Games. The non-profit works to build "comfort homes" where military or veterans' families can stay while a loved one is receiving medical treatment. The video was released earlier this week as a part of an Invictus Games webinar.

"What does recovery mean to you?" Meghan asks in the voiceover. "For some, it means reclaiming your narrative, refining your approach, revolutionizing your mindset. It's a change that's not only physical, it's mental, emotional, social."

"The Invictus Games show that this growth is about more than what meets the eye," she continues. "The spouse coordinating doctors visits, the children celebrating milestones, the mother, father, fellow veteran, friend. There's a community near and far surrounding our service men and women when they deploy and long after they come home because heeling does not happen alone. It takes a village and is for the village."

Meghan has worn the sentimental piece on numerous occasions, one of which being last year's Invictus Games. Meghan often pays tribute to her husband Prince Harry's mom. Back in 2018, she wore Diana's sapphire earrings and sported the royal's aquamarine ring at her and Harry's wedding reception. Meghan also wore the late Princess of Wale's Cartier tennis bracelet during her and Harry's bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview that aired in 2021.
