Meghan Markle Wore a Thing: Valentino Tulle Gown for Misha Nonoo's Wedding Edition

The Duchess of Sussex jetted off to Rome this weekend to celebrate the nuptials of her close friend.

Ever since announcing her engagement to Prince Harry, the world's eyes have been fixed on Meghan Markle — and her style. We'll be following the Meghan Markle Effect with our column, "Meghan Markle Wore a Thing.

Ahead of the royal tour of Africa, which starts next week, Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, jetted off to Rome to celebrate the nuptials of her dear friend Misha Nonoo to oil heir Michael Hess.

For the star-studded wedding, which included rehearsal dinner appearances by Karlie Kloss, Orlando Bloom, Katy Perry, Ivanka Trump and Princess Beatrice, the Duchess wore a black puff-sleeve tulle gown by Valentino that featured spiraling embroidery. Her hair was back in a loose up-do and she sported large gold wing-shaped earrings.

Nonoo, who is a Bahrain-born designer, grew up in London and has long run in royal circles. Until 2016, she was married to one of Prince Harry's closest pals. Rumor has it that she is the fairytale matchmaker responsible for setting the Duchess of Sussex up with the ginger prince.

In the years since, the Duchess and designer have remained close. Nonoo attended her wedding last year and her baby shower in February. Most recently, the pair worked together to design a crisp white shirt for the Duchess' capsule collection on behalf of the Smart Works charity.
