Meghan Markle Wore an Olive Green Shirtdress to the Invictus Games Closing Ceremony
Meghan Markle has been front and center on this Royal Tour, accompanying Prince Harry to dozens of events and helping him to open-and celebrate-the Invictus Games. But on Saturday night (Sydney time) she stepped onto the stage quite literally to give a speech at the closing ceremonies of the Games.
And for that occasion, she chose an olive-green Antonio Berardi dress. The simple, dark dress seemed to have been chose in part to show off the red poppy of remembrance that was pinned to it. The poppy commemorates members of the military who have died in war.
Watch the Duchess of Sussex deliver her speech below:
“In a short span of time, the #InvictusGames have evolved into an international platform of some of the best athletics and sportsmanship you could ever witness, coupled with a camaraderie which can only be defined as the Invictus spirit.” - The Duchess of Sussex #IG2018 pic.twitter.com/1AxPuC1DKy

Meghan and Prince Harry have spent much of this week in Fiji and Tonga, but returned to Australia for the important night. The royal couple had attended the Opening Ceremony (to which Meghan wore a Navy Stella McCartney dress) this past week, and spent the next day watching a few competitions. Meghan used the opportunity to dress down, and wore a pair of sustainable sneakers from Veja.
Following the close of the Games, the Duke and Duchess are on to the final leg of their royal tour: New Zealand. They're set to visit three cities-Wellington, Auckland, and Rotorua-over the course of their four-day stay.
Among the highlights scheduled for the royal couple are a reception celebrating the 125th anniversary of women’s suffrage in New Zealand, and a visit to a kiwi conservation center. (Fingers crossed for photos of Harry and Meghan handling the adorable bird-meets-hedgehog creatures.)
All to soon, the royal tour will be over, and Harry and Meghan will return to business as usual in London.
