Meghan Markle Wore a Gorgeous Dior Dress for Baby Archie's Christening

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry celebrated a major milestone for their son, Baby Archie, on Saturday (July 6). At Windsor Castle, the new parents were joined by a small group of relatives for Archie's royal christening. While some details about the long-established tradition were known far in advance, the day-of specifics are just coming to light—including the designer behind Markle's stunning look for the ceremony.

Only two photos were released from the private ceremony, but they gave onlookers a clear shot at Markle's outfit for the occasion. The Duchess of Sussex chose an elegant white three-quarter-sleeve dress, paired with a white netted fascinator. The full look is front and center in the first family portrait; in the second, royal fans can get a closer look at her fascinator and the back of her dress.

Markle has often turned to Givenchy for her special occasion outfits, but that wasn't the case this time around. The christening look did come from a designer the duchess has incorporated into her royal wardrobe, however: Early reports from the ceremony said that Markle's polished dress was designed by Dior. (The fashion house has not yet commented on Markle's outfit.) She topped off her look with Cartier earrings.

Previously, Markle wore a vintage Dior coat to Lena Elizabeth Tindall's christening in March. And before that, she chose a Dior cape gown for a reception hosted by the British Ambassador to Morocco.

Knowing the Duchess of Sussex, there could be a hidden meaning embedded in her stunning look—but nothing to that effect has been made public yet.

One outfit we do have more details on? Baby Archie's. In an Instagram post, a statement explained that Baby Archie wore a handmade replica of the historic Royal Christening Robe. Royal children have been baptized in the satin and lace garment for the past eleven years—and before that, it was worn for several generations beginning in 1841.
