From Town & Country

The Duchess of Sussex is back in action. After taking a few months' maternity leave following baby Archie's arrival in May, Meghan Markle is set to resume her full-time schedule as a working royal.

The first engagement on her itinerary? Launching her capsule collection of workwear. Meghan arrived at the event wearing two pieces from her line, which was made with a group of fashion collaborators: the white shirt by Misha Nonoo, and the pants from Jigsaw.

The limited fashion line will benefit Smart Works, a patronage of Meghan's that prepares underprivileged women for the job market (including, but not limited to, providing clothing for interviews).

"When you walk into a Smart Works space, you’re met with racks of clothing and an array of bags and shoes," Meghan explained in a British Vogue article. "Sometimes, however, it can be a potpourri of mismatched sizes and colors, not always the right stylistic choices or range of sizes. To help with this, I asked Marks & Spencer, John Lewis & Partners, Jigsaw and my friend, the designer Misha Nonoo, if they were willing to design a capsule collection of more classic options for a workwear wardrobe. Taking the idea further, many of the brands agreed to use the one-for-one model: for each item purchased by a customer, one is donated to the charity."

The line includes a shirt, a pair of pants, a blazer, a dress, and bag (specifically, a tote designed to fit a CV)—all of which promise to suit Meghan Markle fans and Smart Works clients alike.
