Meghan Markle Wears Blazer Designed by Good Friend Serena Williams

In her short time as a member of the royal family, Meghan Markle has turned the spotlight on countless lesser-known designers. Just this past Tuesday, for example, she sparked a major influx of interest in Australian designer Karen Gee when she wore one of the brand's dresses as she kicked off her and Prince Harry's official royal tour of Australia, Fiji, Tonga, and New Zealand. On Wednesday, however, Meghan took a slightly different sartorial approach, choosing instead to lift up a pretty well-known designer (and tennis pro and new mom and activist): her close pal Serena Williams.

As Serena herself pointed out on Instagram, Meghan attended many of her scheduled appearances throughout New South Wales on Wednesday wearing a windowpane plaid blazer from Serena's eponymous clothing line. "The face you make when you and Meghan have matching @serena blazers 😍 #BeSeenBeHeard," Serena captioned a photoset of both her and Meghan wearing the jacket. According to Yahoo!, the piece in question is the Boss Oversized Blazer, which retails for $145 and is nearly sold out.

Serena's site has already paid tribute to the duchess by using a photo of her in the blazer on its homepage, alongside the tongue-in-cheek tagline, "A Trail Blazer." The blazer is part of Serena's Royal collection, which also includes a cropped hoodie emblazoned with the word "Royal" that Serena recently told Teen Vogue she'd sent to her pal across the pond right away. "We sent her all of our royal clothes, even though I was like, 'I'm not sure if you should wear it now that you're a royal,'" she joked, then confirmed that Meghan had indeed inspired the regal collection. "I had to send her the whole collection, of course. We were so inspired by her, and she had to have it."

There are still about two weeks left in Meghan and Harry's royal tour — aka plenty of time for the Duchess of Sussex to swaddle her tiny baby bump in a certain very cozy, very Meghan-inspired hoodie while touring the land down under.
