  • Back in 2015, Meghan Markle spent her Valentine's Day as a single girl, and she shared some advice on her now-defunct blog The Tig about how to love yourself.

  • She even shared what her plans were for the day, saying she'd be "running amok" in the West Village.

In honor of Valentine's Day, the dear people of the internet dug up an old post from Meghan Markle's blog The Tig, and there are some high quality gems of wisdom in here that you need to read.

When Meghan wrote this post back in 2015, she was single and in a "funk," which is high-key relatable, but she was able to pull herself out of it after getting some much-needed advice.

“Last season I was chatting with my Suits sister wives, Sarah and Gina, and was in some sort of funk, bemoaning something that was so futile I don’t even remember what it was now. But I was faaaaaar from showing [myself] self love,” she started by saying.

“One of them stopped me - truth be told I can’t remember which one because they both impart their sage wisdom with me on the daily - but one of the stylish wise ones stopped me and said, ‘Hey! That’s my friend you’re talking about. Be nice to her.’"

She explained that they were were just trying to protect her from her own criticism and self doubt. They were trying to remind her to treat herself as well as she treats others. To "be my own valentine," she wrote.

“This Valentine’s Day I will be with friends, running amock [sic] through the streets of New York, likely imbibing some cocktail that’s oddly pink, and jumping over icy mounds in my new shoes through the salted snowy streets of the West Village,” she noted in the post.

“But those shoes, by the way, were my gift to myself. Because I’ve worked hard, because I’m not going to wait for someone to buy me the things I covet (nor do I want to), and because I want to treat myself as well as I treat those dearest to me. Because I am my own funny Valentine,” she said.

PREACH, MEG. Sounds like a perfect plan.
