Meghan Markle Surprised Her Makeup Artist For His Birthday During New York Trip
Meghan Markle is making the most of her time in New York. While in the States to attend the U.S. Open, Meghan also carved out some time to surprise her longtime makeup artist, Daniel Martin, with some cupcakes for his birthday.

“I am so overwhelmed by all of your well wishes! My sincerest gratitude!! Thanks to everyone for reaching out to me today,” he wrote on Instagram. “Meg, love you friend for surprising me on my special day.”
Martin, who’s worked with other celebrities including Jessica Alba, Elisabeth Moss, and Gemma Chan, did Meghan’s beauty look for her wedding to Prince Harry last May. He also helped plan her baby shower in New York earlier this year.
“It was a reunion for all of us, too, who hadn’t seen each other since the wedding,” Martin told People at the time. “Snow was falling outside, and it was so cozy—we all sat on couches or on the floor and told stories and caught up. It was like going to a family reunion.”
In addition to catching her friend, Serena Williams, play at the U.S. Open, Meghan also snuck in a yoga class shortly after her flight landed. She and a friend joined dozens of others at the Modo Yoga studio in the West Village and, of course, she did not go unnoticed.
“There were lots of sweet, knowing smiles,” a source told People. “She has been going to Modo Yoga for many years and tries to do so whenever she is in New York. It was the perfect remedy for jet lag.”
