Meghan Markle is ending her time as a senior member of the royal family on a sartorial high note. During her return to the UK this month for a farewell tour of sorts, Meghan has publicly worn several bold looks including a vibrant teal dress at the Endeavour Fund Awards, a scarlet cape gown that perfectly matched the shade of Prince Harry's dress uniform at the Mountbatten Music Festival, and a striking green ensemble at the Commonwealth Day celebration.

But for her final solo engagement, which took place on Monday at Buckingham Palace before she reunited with the Queen, Prince Charles, the Cambridges, and the Wessexes at Westminster Abbey, Meghan opted for a more subdued outfit.

The Duchess chose a navy blue dress by Scanlan Theodore with cap sleeves and a tie around the neck for a private visit with students from 11 Commonwealth countries. A sleek low ponytail, matching clutch, and pointy-toed shoes finished off her outfit.

As Town & Country's Contributing Editor Victoria Murphy reported from the event, "Meghan spoke with 22 scholars from across the Commonwealth in a 30-minute meeting on Monday around lunchtime before shedding tears as she said goodbye to some of her staff and heading to Westminster Abbey for the Commonwealth Day Service."

Murphy also noted that Meghan talked with the students about a variety of topics ranging from concerns about micro-plastics in the ocean and climate change to the importance of sustainable travel. Read her full account of the event here.

Meghan has since left the UK to return to Canada. She and Prince Harry will officially transition out of their senior royal roles at the end of this month.
