While Kate Middleton made a surprise appearance at Easter service in Windsor today, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry skipped the St. George's Chapel outing on what would've been Markle's first Easter with the royal family. But Hello! reports there was a good reason to this: royal sources told the outlet that Harry and Markle chose to celebrate the bank holiday in private and take a break from the public eye.

Markle and Harry did attend Christmas service with the royal family in Sandringham in December, and Harry hasn't attended Easter church service with the Queen in years (suggesting the event may be optional for family members to attend).

The two are due to get married at St. George's Chapel, where the service was, next month on May 19. Their last public engagement was on March 23 when they visited Northern Ireland. They're due out next on April 6, when they will attend the UK team trials for the Invictus Games Sydney 2018 at the University of Bath Sports Training Village, according to the Palace.
