How Meghan Markle Shops at Whole Foods Without Anyone Noticing

Don’t let her royal title fool you: Meghan Markle is just like the rest of us. At least, she is when it comes to loving the grocery store so much she’d risk revealing her identity just to peruse the aisles of Whole Foods.

Sure, she may be the Duchess of Sussex, but that isn’t stopping her from doing normal person stuff like going to pilates, grocery shopping, and allegedly taking her dogs out to do their business. But just how is one of the world’s most famous women get around without anyone noticing? It’s simple: She wears a disguise.

“She spends most of her weekends in the Cotswolds with Harry,” a source told People. “When she does venture out to Pilates or to get her hair done, she normally goes incognito under a baseball cap.”

If you’re looking to run into the low-key royal in hiding, the source told People, “the only other place she has visited regularly is Whole Foods, which is little more than five minutes away from Kensington Palace. That way she can quickly sneak in and out without anyone noticing it’s her.” (Yeah, their 365 Organics line is just that good.)

While this may seem like a silly practice for someone who can have their groceries delivered on a whim, a trainer brought to the palace, and every hair stylist in the world on call, it may be an important part of the newly minted royal’s week to help keep her grounded.

“Every single day is in the public eye,” Ken Wharfe, Princess Diana’s former bodyguard, told People. “To do the things that she used to do in America, those days are long gone. You can argue she has the biggest acting role ahead of her that she ever had in her life.”

But it's undeniably an exciting time for Meghan, as she prepares for her first official royal tour with her husband, Prince Harry. They'll visit Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji. Surely she’ll be able to don her best disguise and go out to see the sights (or do a little local grocery shopping) then as well.
