Wonder what life was like for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry during their royal tour of Africa? Me too. Thankfully, we’re figuring it out, because a new documentary titled Harry & Meghan: An African Journey, will be released in the UK this Sunday. In it, Meghan opened up about the difficulties she’s faced with the British tabloid press and being a new mother in the spotlight.

In a clip from the documentary, Meghan said that not many people checked on her emotional well-being after she had Archie. “Any woman, especially when they’re pregnant, you’re really vulnerable, and so that was made really challenging. And then when you have a newborn, you know. And especially as a woman, it’s a lot,” she said. “So you add this on top of just trying to be a new mom or trying to be a newlywed. It’s, um…yeah. I guess, also, thank you for asking because not many people have asked if I’m okay, but it’s a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes.”

And if that weren’t heartbreaking enough, the interviewer then asked Meghan, “Would it be fair to say [that you’re] not really okay, as in it’s really been a struggle?”

Meghan’s answer? “Yes.”

This documentary was filmed just before Harry announced in a statement that he is suing several British newspapers and tabloids for invading Meghan’s privacy and bullying her on a daily basis. He wrote:

“My wife has become one of the latest victims of a British tabloid press that wages campaigns against individuals with no thought to the consequences—a ruthless campaign that has escalated over the past year, throughout her pregnancy and while raising our newborn son.

“Though this action may not be the safe one, it is the right one. Because my deepest fear is history repeating itself. I’ve seen what happens when someone I love is commoditized to the point that they are no longer treated or seen as a real person. I lost my mother and now I watch my wife falling victim to the same powerful forces.”
