Meghan Markle Says Being a Mom Is "Magic" During the Royal Baby Debut
Meghan Markle has just made her first public comments as a mom. She and husband Prince Harry stepped out at Windsor Castle today to debut their newborn son to the world, and the new mother looked like she was bursting with joy.
When asked how motherhood is treating her, the Duchess of Sussex said, "It is magic and it is pretty amazing. I have the two best guys in the world. And so I am really happy."
She also noted that her baby boy is treating her well. "He has the sweetest temperament," the duchess said. "He is really calm and he has just been a dream. It has been a special couple of days."
When asked which parent the little boy takes after, Meghan said she and Harry are "still trying to figure that out."
However, Harry chimed in, saying their son's looks "are changing every single day." It may be a while before we can tell if Baby Sussex is Meghan or Harry's lookalike.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their bundle of joy on Monday, May 6, and announced his birth on Instagram hours after the delivery. Their little one was seven pounds, three ounces, they said in the caption. The baby boy's name has still not been announced. The couple is waiting to tell the queen first before making that news public.
Harry added that parenting is "great" and "amazing" during today's press appearance. "It has only been what, two and a half, three days," he added. "We are just so thrilled to have our own bundle of joy and to be able to spend some precious time as he slowly starts to grow up."
Meghan and Harry are expected to present their child to the queen and Prince Philip sometime after this morning's photo call. The new mom even noted that they "just bumped" into the Duke of Edinburgh as they were heading to speak to the media. "So it will be a nice moment to introduce the baby to the whole family and my mom is with us too," Meghan said.
Before taking off with their little one, the Duchess of Sussex made sure to thank royal fans for their kind greetings about the baby. "Thank you everyone for all the well wishes and the kindness," she said. "It just means so much."
