Meghan Markle is opening up about the little details that went into creating her new children’s book, The Bench, including a special nod to Princess Diana.

Over the weekend, the Duchess of Sussex joined NPR Weekend Edition to open up about the book, which was inspired by a poem she wrote to her husband Prince Harry for Father's Day 2019.

While the main tribute was obviously to her hubby and her son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, the mother of two made sure to include hidden nods to a handful of other special people in her life, specifically, her late mother-in-law, the Princess of Wales.

During the interview, she revealed that she wanted to include images of Princess Diana's favorite flower, the forget-me-not.

“I think you can find sweet little moments that we've tucked in there, from my favorite flower, even my husband's mum's favorite flower, forget-me-nots, we wanted to make sure they were included in there,” Markle said according to People. “There's a lot of special detail and love that went into that book.”

This isn’t the first time the Duchess of Sussex has used the flower to honor Princess Di. In fact, Markle even included the plant in her wedding bouquet back in 2018. It was also featured in an IG post for Markle’s first Mother’s Day.

However, that’s not the only hidden easter egg included in the book. Per the duchess, Markle made sure to include nods to “her girls” (although she remained mum on which girls). “There are all those sorts of Easter eggs and nuggets tucked within the book,” the duchess continued. “There's a lot if people start digging.”

Looks like we better get to work.
