Meghan Markle might not be heading to King Charles’ coronation on Saturday, May 6th, but she reportedly intends to cause “maximum damage” to the royal family from across the pond. If you’ll recall, the Duchess of Sussex, 41, has opted to stay home in Montecito, California with her children Prince Archie, who will turn four on the same day as the coronation, and Princess Lilibet, who will turn two next month. It was later reported that Prince Harry would “rush home” to be with his family following his father’s crowning at Westminster Abbey, thus missing out on the big coronation concert the following day.

However, if we are to believe some of the reports that are doing the rounds, the former Suits actress may have had her own secret plans to make things awkward for the royal family over the coronation weekend; partly with Prince Archie’s fourth birthday party, and partly with those recently resurfaced letters to the King about racism within the royal family.

Meghan Markle Reportedly 'Wants To Bring Down The Royal Family'

"Even though Meghan doesn’t plan to attend, she wants to cause maximum damage to the royal family," GB News host and Daily Mail columnist Dan Wootton said in an interview on Sky News Australia on Monday, April 24th.

Wootton then went on to reference the release of the interestingly-timed letters Meghan sent to the new monarch about her concerns about racism in the royal family, which he thought was one way to pull focus from the coronation. The letters were sent two years ago, but have suspiciously leaked so close to the coronation, which Wootton thinks is no coincidence.

"Surprise, surprise, this has leaked out just two weeks before the coronation," Wootton said. He went on to say that he found it "inexcusable" that Meghan made it very clear that she thought the royal family were "racist" but let the late Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II "go to their death bed knowing that the world thought there was an issue with racism within the royal family."

"This gutless woman has downgraded her criticism to unconscious bias and admitted that the person who she claims to be the royal racist actually wasn't racist at all," he continued, adding, "I think there are many issues with this letter... she still wants to bring down the royal family, but she will be unsuccessful."

Reports last month suggested that Kate Middleton thought both Prince Harry and Meghan timed their announcements to clash with her and Prince William's events in an attempt to pull focus from them – such as releasing the first trailer for their Netflix docuseries while the Prince and Princess of Wales were in Boston for the 2022 Earthshot Prize awards – and we’re inclined to think that this might be what's going on for the coronation too!

Perhaps Meghan's interesting timing is due to the fact that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's coronation demands were not met! "What they wanted wasn’t achieved," a source told People. "But at the end of the day, he’s going there to support his dad," the source added, referencing Prince Harry attending the coronation, adding, "it’s become so personal."

Prince Archie's Birthday Could Upstage The Coronation

Some people in Prince Harry and Meghan's corner *could* argue that the coronation date was poorly planned, as the palace should have been aware about Prince Archie's birthday and the potential conflict. However, sources are now suggesting that Meghan wants to use her soon-to-be-four-year-old's birthday as yet another way to upstage the coronation as she is planning his birthday party for the same day as the historic event.

"It’s terribly petty, but the Sussexes, who no longer have their royal platform, seem to relish any opportunity to attempt to upstage a royal occasion," royal columnist Lee Cohen told the Express. We don’t know many details about the party, but the Mirror thinks it will be quite the star-studded event, which could potentially grab some headlines. The Mirror reports that Serena Williams and neighbors such as Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are among the A-listers rumored to be attending Prince Archie's birthday bash.
