Meghan Markle Reportedly Flew Back to Canada While Prince Harry Navigated Drama in England

Meghan Markle has made her way back to Canada amid the drama surrounding her plans to step back from her position in the royal family.

Previously, the couple left baby Archie in Canada, according to People, while they headed to London to take care of royal business for the new year. They headed to Canada House earlier this week on Tuesday (January 7). There, they extended their gratitude for the country acting as host while they spent their royal sabbatical there during the holidays.

Sources indicate that Archie was initially under the care of Meghan's friend Jessica Mulroney, who appeared in Meghan and Harry's royal wedding two years ago in May 2018. Mulroney's Instagram post on Wednesday (January 8) appears to corroborate this, as she appeared to lend support to Meghan by way of an inspirational quote from filmmaker Gina Carey.

"A strong woman looks a challenge dead in the eye and gives it a wink," wrote Carey alongside an image featuring the same text.

Meghan and Harry initially shared their plans to "transition" this year away from their role as senior members of the royal family on Wednesday.

"After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution," they announced via Instagram. "We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen. It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment.
