How Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Are Reportedly Spending Their Second Wedding Anniversary

Two years ago today, we all watched as Meghan Markle and Prince Harry got married at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle. It felt straight out of a fairy tale as the former Suits star (and an American, no less) became literal royalty by marrying one of the world's most beloved and eligible bachelors.

Since then, the Sussexes have welcomed baby Archie and left their roles as senior working royals, choosing instead to relocate to Markle's hometown of Los Angeles, where they will be celebrating their second wedding anniversary. "The day will simply be quality time with one another and as a family," a source told Harper's Bazaar's Omid Scobie. "They're not going to be doing any work and made sure they have no meetings or calls in the diary."

"Like everyone else, they are in lockdown at the moment, so they will just be hanging out together at home," the source added. "But it will still be a lovely day."

Honestly, a quiet day at home sounds pretty perfect for them given the glare of the spotlight they've faced since their wedding day. Markle and Prince Harry have spoken publicly about the toll that certain kinds of media attention have taken on their lives.

“I really tried to adopt this British sensibility of a ‘stiff upper lip,’" Markle said in a documentary about the couple's royal tour of South Africa. "I really tried, but I think that what that does internally is probably really damaging—and the biggest thing I know is that I never thought this would be easy, but I thought it would be fair, and that’s the part that’s really hard to reconcile. I don’t know, just take each day as it comes.”

Through it all, Meghan and Harry have stood together, always presenting a united front. And if photos and the few glimpses we get of them popping into Zoom calls and reading to Archie are any indication, they seem pretty comfortable in their decisions.

Happy anniversary, you two. Hope it's indeed a "lovely" day.
