Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Official Wedding Invitation Is Revealed
At last! Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s official wedding invitation has finally been revealed to the public. Kensington Palace took the lead on unveiling the royal stationery, which follows family tradition and includes both American and British touches to honor the bride and the groom.
It reads: “His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales… requests the pleasure of the company of [guest name] at the marriage of His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales with Ms. Meghan Markle at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle on Saturday, 19th May 2018 at 12 noon followed by a reception at Windsor Castle.”
The elegant invitation is presented on a white and gold-embossed card and it includes the official badge of the Prince of Wales. Details are printed in neat black-colored calligraphy ink. “The invitations follow many years of Royal tradition and have been made by @BarnardWestwood,” the palace revealed this week. “They feature the Three-Feathered Badge of the Prince of Wales printed in gold ink.”

About 600 guests will be the fortunate recipients of the invitation itself, which includes elements from both the bride and groom’s roots. “Using American ink on English card, the invitations are printed in gold and black, then burnished to bring out the shine, and gilded around the edge,” the palace continued on Twitter. “@BarnardWestwood have been making Royal invitations since 1985, and Managing Director Austen Kopley said he was thrilled and honoured to be making them.”

Indeed, Barnard and Westwood is a London-based printing company that has now been with the royal family for over three decades. Just this past week, Harry and Meghan’s wedding cake details were revealed by the palace. They have selected London-based pastry chef Violet Ptak, who like the bride, is also American.
