Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Morocco Trip Was Packed With PDA (Including Him Playing With Her Hair)

They say absence makes the heart grow fonder, which appeared to be precisely the case between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle during their visit to Morocco this weekend.

The Duchess of Sussex, fresh from a little-known secret trip to New York City (which included a private, friends-only baby shower), accompanied her husband for a three-day scheduled appearance to Morocco after some time apart. Throughout their time in the country, the pair was spotted holding hands, laughing with each other, and sharing a variety of tender moments as they met with locals.

The couple was welcomed by an official guard of honor who took the pair to meet Crown Prince Moulay Hassan in Rabat. Kensington Palace said the purpose of their visit was to meet with youth and to highlight the importance of girls’ educations in an ever-changing landscape in today’s Morocco.

During the official trip, the pair met with an artisan while stopping by the Kasbah of the Udayas. There, Prince Harry was photographed helping Markle with her ponytail as she greeted the local.

The pair, who married in May 2018 at Windsor Castle, is currently expecting the arrival of their first child together in April. Ahead of the birth of the baby, Markle’s close girlfriends, including Serena Williams and stylist Jessica Mulroney threw the duchess a sweet shower at the Mark Hotel in New York City. Additional celeb guests included Amal Clooney, Abigail Spencer (who had a recurring role on Suits), and Gayle King.

King touched on the topic of the shower on CBS This Morning last week. “She didn’t open any of the gifts because she wants to do that when she and Harry are back together,” the talk show host said of Markle. The party itself also included floral arranging, which was eventually donated in tandem with Repeat Roses.

“It just speaks to who she is: She’s very kind, she’s very generous, and a really, really sweet person,” King said of the royal. “I think her friends just wanted to celebrate her. Serena and her best friend who’s been her best friend since she was 17, Genevieve [Hillis], and her friend Jessica Mulroney. Those were the three women who put it all together. It was a very, very small, private affair and just a very special time for her.”
