Meghan Markle wasn’t afraid to show some sparkle when it came to her latest royal engagement. The expectant Duchess of Sussex shimmered down the red carpet at the Royal Variety Performance at the London Palladium Monday night, showing her support, along with husband Prince Harry, for the Royal Variety Charity, of which Queen Elizabeth II is a Patron.

The event also fell on the six month anniversary of their Windsor wedding, which took place on May 19. The PDA-prone couple held hands as they made their way into the venue for the formal occasion.

The Suits alum, 37, surprised royal fans with her outfit for the black tie fete, which featured a $1,149 sequined halter top and skirt set by Safiyaa London, a far cry from the Duchess’ more recent choices of a tuxedo dress or a boatneck style. (For the record, Prince Harry, 34, wore a dapper tuxedo for the event).

Markle’s halter top featured a black and white floral sequin pattern along with several horizontal black stripes cutting across her figure, while the skirt itself was unembellished. The Duchess accessorized her look with Maison Birks diamond earrings and a clutch from UFO.

According to E! News, Harry and Markle spent the pre-show moments chatting with the cast of “Hamilton,” who were in attendance, as well as Take That, who were set to take the stage during the show.

In the months since their nuptials, the pair have been keeping busy, what with the royal tour and the announcement of Markle’s pregnancy in October.

While they spent this particular occasion together, Prince Harry will spend the one year anniversary of his engagement announcement away from his wife due to another royal duty. On November 27, he will instead be in Zambia for continual conservation efforts.
