It was a date night for the Sussexes in Ojai, California: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently enjoyed a low-key dinner at The Dutchess. The restaurant, serving Burmese-Californian fare, opened earlier this year.

"They came in just the two of them, and it was very impromptu, no reservations, very low key," an onlooker told HELLO! "They loved the food - the naans are made in house, they take two days to make from scratch, in an imported Tandori oven. The chef even makes his own ghee. Everyone said they were really great, and they had a very pleasant time." Another onlooker told Page Six, "No one approached them and if people recognized them no one showed it."

Since moving to Montecito, California in 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have stayed pretty low-key.

Meghan recently opened up about their home life on an episode of Archetypes, sharing, "I'm sure it'll only get more chaotic as they get older, but for me, it's both monitors on for the kids to hear them—Always up with Lili, get her downstairs. Then a half hour later, Archie's up. Start doing his lunchbox right before he's up, while I have her getting her a little nibble. My husband's helping me get him downstairs, and I make breakfast for all three of them. It's very important to me. I love doing it."

A Netflix docuseries detailing their life in California, and their love story, is currently in the works, directed by Liz Garbus. "It’s nice to be able to trust someone with our story — a seasoned director whose work I’ve long admired — even if it means it may not be the way we would have told it. But that’s not why we’re telling it. We’re trusting our story to someone else, and that means it will go through their lens," Meghan told Variety.

There's no word yet on the premiere date, but some outlets have reported it could hit the streaming platform as early as next month.
