Meghan Markle & Prince Harry Convey a United Front by Repeatedly Donning Color-Coordinated Outfits

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s final week of royal engagements has been a busy one. They stepped out for the Endeavour Fund Awards, got all gussied up for the Mountbatten Music Festival and celebrated Commonwealth Day. Although each outing in the couple’s final docket of royal activities has been totally different, there’s been one common thread. It seems the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are communicating a very clear message. Each time the 35-year-old prince and 38-year-old duchess have made an appearance, they’ve worn color-coordinated outfits.

At the 2020 Endeavour Fund Awards at Mansion House in London (aka their first joint U.K. engagement since announcing their decision to step down as senior members of the royal family), they both sported blue.

Markle selected a cerulean Victoria Beckham tailored shift dress and Prince Harry donned a royal blue suit and icy blue tie for the occasion. They also engaged in quite a bit of PDA, but that’s neither here nor there.

It happened again at the Mountbatten Music Festival at Royal Albert Hall, where they chose red outfits in the same exact shade.

Prince Harry attended the event in his official capacity as Captain General of the Royal Marines (for the last time) and wore traditional military dress along with the medals he was awarded for his two tours of Afghanistan. Markle took a cue from her husband and dazzled in a crimson floor length Safiyaa gown.

Last but not least, for the Commonwealth Day celebration, Prince Harry paid a small homage to Markle’s Kelly green Emilia Wickstead cape dress by choosing a blue suit with a lining in the exact shade of green. Now that’s what we call dedication to color coordination.

So, what does it all mean? Not only has Markle been showing her gratitude and appreciation for the U.K. by wearing all British designers, but she and Prince Harry have demonstrated a united front thanks to their matching color schemes. It shows that regardless of the challenges they’ve faced during their relationship and in their decision to step back from royal duty, they’re a team.

Bravo, Sussexes.
