Baby Archie made his first public appearance this morning on day three of the Sussexes’ tour of South Africa. The 4-and-a-half-month-old arrived with his parents to meet Archbishop Desmond Tutu at the Desmond & Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation in Cape Town.

A video posted on the Sussex Royal Instagram account showed Archie being carried by his mother Meghan to meet the Archbishop with the tag line “Arch meets Archie.” His first appearance was not announced in advance.

Ahead of the tour the couple said that they hoped to include him in the public program but could not commit to when this might be. Earlier this month, a royal source said, "They hope to include Archie at some point in the program. It’s just difficult to schedule because he’s five months old.” It is unclear if he will make another appearance during the official visit.

Founded in Cape Town in 2013, the Desmond & Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation contributes to the development of youth and leadership, facilitates discussions about social justice and common human purposes and makes the lessons of Archbishop Tutu accessible to new generations.

It is located in one of Cape Town’s oldest buildings and a national landmark, The Old Granary Building.

Harry previously met with Archbishop Tutu in November 2015, when His Royal Highness presented him with the Insignia of an Honorary member of The Order of the Companions of Honour on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen, in recognition of his services to U.K. communities and International Peace and Reconciliation.
