Meghan Markle celebrated her actual 38th birthday on August 4 quietly in England with her husband Prince Harry and son Archie Harrison, plus a beautiful surprise cake from Luminary Bakery. But that was only the beginning of her festivities: Hello! and The Mirror report the Duke and Duchess of Sussex took their son to Ibiza two days later for a belated family birthday vacation.

The British publications note that multiple Spanish media outlets have reported on the trip. Meghan is said to have flown in a private jet with Harry and Archie on August 6, and they stayed in a "secluded villa" there. They're believed to have traveled with their security team and hired five local escorts who know the area, according to Hello!. They returned home on August 12. Buckingham Palace declined to comment to both The Mirror and Hello! about the trip, which is not surprising. Personal trips like this are almost always kept private.

Meghan and Harry aren't the only royals to take a luxurious private vacation this year. Kate Middleton, Prince William, and their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis all went to Mustique Island last month around George's sixth birthday. They went to the same private island in the Caribbean last year.

Hello! pointed out that Meghan has been to Ibiza before. Meghan went in 2016 with her friends, including designer Misha Nonoo who shared a photo of the girls on their trip:

Meghan has spent her summer on maternity leave after welcoming Archie in May. A trusted confidant told ELLE.com in June that “Meghan is radiant, taking each day one day at a time...what strikes me most is this authentic peacefulness that has settled within her.”
