Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Again Break Tradition With a High Fashion Wedding Florist

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s upcoming wedding will be lavishly and perfectly seasonally appropriate. The engaged couple announced their wedding florist on Sunday, April 1, again opting to buck royal tradition as they continue to plan their May 19 nuptials at Windsor Castle.

The palace revealed that the two have opted for Philippa Craddock, a high-fashion florist based in London. “Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle have chosen floral designer @philippacraddock to create the church flowers for their wedding,” Kensington Palace shared on Instagram. “The displays in St George’s Chapel will feature foliage from The Crown Estate and Windsor Great Park, and will use seasonal plants including branches of beech, birch and hornbeam, as well as white garden roses, peonies and foxgloves.”

“I am excited and honored to have been chosen by Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle to design and create their wedding flowers,” Craddock said in the statement. “Working with them has been an absolute pleasure. The process has been highly collaborative, free-flowing, creative and fun. The final designs will represent them as a couple, which I always aim to achieve in my work, with local sourcing, seasonality and sustainability being at the forefront.”

Markle is a known adorer of flowers, so naturally she drew a deep inspiration from nature while conjuring up the design concept for her wedding day. “The designs will reflect the wild and natural landscapes from which many of the plants will be drawn,” the palace revealed. “The Royal Parks will also supply pollinator-friendly plants from their wildflower meadows. These plants provide a great habitat for bees and help to sustain healthy and biodiverse ecosystems.”

According to the palace statement, Craddock “will direct a team, including florists from St George’s Chapel and Buckingham Palace, to create the displays at St George’s Chapel and for St George’s Hall.”

Along with the revelation of the florist herself, the bride and groom also shared another charitable component to their nuptials on Sunday. Like some of their fellow celebs, Markle and Harry have opted to donate their wedding flowers to charity organizations after the nuptials.
