Just when we thought there couldn’t be any more hidden meanings related to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s daughter's name, Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, it was revealed that there is possibly another link. Only this time, it’s to the Duchess of Sussex’s mother, Doria Ragland. Allow us to explain.

The couple welcomed their second child on Friday and announced the exciting news in a statement on Sunday that read, “The Duke and Duchess thank you for your warm wishes and prayers as they enjoy this special time as a family.” In their statement, they also revealed that their daughter’s name has a handful of family connections with Lilibet being the nickname of Queen Elizabeth II (used by her late husband, Prince Philip) and Diana being included to honor Prince Harry's mother.

However, in addition to those more obvious connections, we recently learned that the Duke of Sussex previously showed his interest in the name and that it also had a special link to Markle’s wedding bouquet, which included the lily of the valley.

Now, as People reports, it’s also possible that the mother of two chose the name as a nod to the nickname her own mother gave her as a child: “Flower." Per the outlet, the duchess revealed the nickname on her old lifestyle blog, The Tig, where she listed all of the monikers including, "Meg, MM, M&M, and Flower (which my mom has called me since I was little)." Choosing the nickname Lili, could be a tribute to her own floral-related nickname.

Looks like Meghan and Harry wanted to include as many family members as possible when picking out a name for their newborn.
