Meghan Markle's go-to Rothy's flats just got a chic update in time for spring and summer. The sustainable shoe brand, which the Duchess of Sussex has been a fan of for years, introduced a beautiful collection of espadrille flats today—and let's just say, we wouldn't be surprised if Meghan already ordered herself a pair or two.
While traditional espadrilles are made of canvas and wrapped with jute, Rothy's reimagined the seasonal must-have with a blend of breathable hemp and its signature recycled knitted thread (spun from plastic water bottles) for a more comfortable, flexible, and sustainable fit. Like its sister flats style, the shoes are still machine washable—making them the first-ever washable espadrille—and have an ultra-cushy footbed with a rubbery sole for extra grip and support. Most notably, the Rothy's Espadrilles feature a rounded toe shape, sturdy stitch-to-sole construction, and straps that elegantly wrap around the ankles and can be removed and converted into simple flats.
The versatile silhouette, retailing for a reasonable $139 a pair, is available in a range of eye-catching colors and patterns— including red, limeade, metallic, a black captoe, and leopard print—perfect for all your summer adventures. Check out the new espadrilles below, and then head over to the Rothy's website to make your selection. Word to the wise: Shop fast, because we suspect the style to sell out quickly.
