Meghan Markle’s Latest Australia Tour Look Revives the Peplum Top

The Duchess of Sussex made the case for the peplum top at the Invictus Games wheelchair basketball final.

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has been delivering one elegant fashion message after another on her Australian tour with Prince Harry. Her latest look, worn during the Invictus Games wheelchair basketball final in Sydney today, made the case for the revival of the peplum top, a gently voluminously silhouette that gained prominence in the mid-to-late 2000s. Leave it to Markle to make a forgotten trend feel fresh, elegant, and most importantly of all, fit for royalty.

For her appearance at the games, Markle wore a burgundy peplum wrap top by the Australian brand Scanlan Theodore, of several local labels she has worn on her trip. She styled it with black skinny jeans by Outland (it appears the fancy-top-and-jeans trend is a combo that’s here to stay, even with royals) and finished it off with simple pointed black pumps by Sarah Flint.
