Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton had a little time to catch up on thank you notes during their month off-or at least their Kensington Palace staff did. A glimpse of the postcards some members of the public received for wishing Meghan a happy birthday and/or wishing Kate and Prince Louis well on his christening have been shared on social media this week. The Palace, on behalf of Meghan, sent her notes out to fans who sent her cards for her August 4 birthday. The front has a photo of her beaming while meeting onlookers:

And on the back, there's a kind message from her: "The Duchess of Sussex is so touched you took the trouble to write as you did on the occasion of her 37th birthday. It really was thoughtful of you and Her Royal Highness sends you her heartfelt thanks and best wishes."

Kate, meanwhile, had cards sent out to those who wrote to her, Prince William, and Prince Louis for his July 9 baptism. On the front, the portrait of Louis smiling in her arms was used:

A similar message to Meghan's is on the back: "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were touched that you took the trouble to write on the occasion of the Baptism of their son, Prince Louis. Their Royal Highnesses are so grateful for all the wonderful messages they have received and send you their warmest thanks and best wishes."

How very nice.
