Meghan Markle Just Snapped Her First Official Twitter Photo for Kensington Palace

Duchess Kate Middleton has been known to regularly take on photographer duties, snapping official shots of her family’s biggest milestones (remember Prince Louis’ adorable debut?), and now Duchess Meghan Markle is following suit, contributing her very first official snap to Kensington Palace’s Twitter account.

Taken on their current royal tour of Australia, Fiji, Tonga, and New Zealand, the black-and-white image shows Prince Harry walking across a huge stage, rehearsing his speech for the Invictus Games Closing Ceremony, which took place in Sydney on Saturday, October 27.

“Getting ready for tonight’s @InvictusSydney closing ceremony, where we will celebrate the #InvictusGames competitors, and their friends and families,” the palace wrote in the caption. “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will both speak at the ceremony this evening. #IG2018.” Before signing off, they included a little camera emoji and a photo credit that referenced none other than the Duchess herself.

Later that evening, both Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan took the stage, and Markle moved the crowd by paying tribute to the Invictus Games, as well as to her husband.

Wearing a green Antonio Berardi tuxedo dress, she was greeted with deafening applause. “It is such an honor to be here tonight, celebrating all of you and supporting my husband in the Invictus Games, which he founded four years ago,” she began. “In that short span of time, the Games have evolved into an international platform of some of the best athletics and sportsmanship you could ever witness, coupled with a camaraderie which can only be defined as the Invictus spirit.”
