Meghan Markle Just Made a Surprise Appearance at the Fashion Awards for a Very Cute Reason
Meghan Markle just made a surprise appearance at The Fashion Awards in London to present her friend with a very special honor. Clare Waight Keller, the artistic director of Givenchy, who famously designed Meghan's wedding dress, was just named British Womenswear Designer of the Year.
“It is such an honor to be here celebrating British fashion and British fashion designers in my new home of the U.K.,” Meghan said when she took the stage to present Clare with the award.
"As all of you in the room know, we have a deep connection to what we wear, sometimes it's very personal and sometimes it's emotional. But for me, this connection is rooted in, really, being able to understand that it's about supporting and empowering each other, especially as women."
Here are a few clips of her speech.

She wore a black silk Givenchy gown for the occasion (duh!) and wore her hair in a tight bun. She presented alongside Rosamund Pike.
Clare made sure to thank Meghan when she got on the stage, and it was very sweet. "I got to know Meghan on such a personal level, and to have someone like that trust you in an incredible moment in their life, is something that is just the most unbelievable honor," Clare said. "And I cannot thank you enough, because it was just the most beautiful thing. Thank you."
