Meghan Markle will remain on maternity leave through the summer, but it won't be months until the public sees the Duchess of Sussex again. Actually, it was be just days. Entertainment Tonight is reporting that Meghan is expected to make an appearance at this year's Wimbledon tennis tournament. A source told the outlet that Meghan is planning to watch her friend Serena Williams play during the tournament, which formally begins on July 1 and runs through July 14. Qualifier matches began on June 24.

Entertainment Tonight's source said that the only way Meghan will not be at the tournament is if "the baby [Archie] keeps her home last minute."

Meghan making an appearance at Wimbledon has been speculated before. The Duchess attended the tournament last year with her sister-in-law Kate Middleton to watch the ladies' finals. It was their first joint event together and only so far with just the two of them.

A royal source told ELLE.com earlier this month that Meghan is expected to make "intermittent appearances" during her maternity leave. The Duchess of Sussex was last out at Trooping the Colour, the Queen's annual birthday parade and a family event.

Meghan had wanted to honor the Queen, according to friends, and has always been conscious of tradition. “This is similar to the Duchess of Cambridge’s maternity leave where she made a few appearances at family and personal events [Trooping the Couple and Wimbledon] but did not carry out any official duties as a member of the Royal Family during maternity leave,” a royal source told ELLE.com.

Serena Williams, by the way, is said to have met Meghan's baby Archie with her husband Alexis Ohanian back in May.
