  • Meghan Markle helped a couple struggling to take a selfie on their hike.

  • Meghan and Harry were hiking with Suits star Abigail Spencer on New Year's Day.

Imagine wandering around the wilderness on a hike (apologies, I literally cannot imagine such a thing) when whomst should show up but Meghan Markle, casual Duchess of Sussex, and her husband, Prince Harry

Apparently that's exactly what happened to Asymina Kantorowicz and Iliya Pavlovic, who were struggling to take a picture with a selfie stick on New Year's Day when Meghan and Harry showed up to help them out.

“We’ve been doing this hike on New Year’s Day for the past two years. We took a little picnic out and we were finishing up and trying to get some selfies with the nice backdrop when a woman came up to us and asked if we wanted her to take our photo,” Asymina told People (note: CTV News first broke the story). "We had noticed the group before, it was otherwise pretty secluded. They had two dogs with them and we wanted to pet one."

Ironically, Asymina didn't recognize Meghan at first, and only realized she was among famous people when she saw Meghan's friend and fellow Suits star Abigail Spencer.

“I’m a Suits fan and I first noticed Abigail and then I looked up and realized it was Meghan taking the photo. Then I looked back at the group and realized Prince Harry was there too!” she said. “I couldn’t believe who it was. There was Meghan smiling at me, waiting to take the photo and it was just shock at that moment and disbelief. The only thing I could think to say to her was, ‘There’s only so much that selfie sticks can do.’ She laughed and said something like, ‘We’ll have to take a good photo then,’ and then Harry said, ‘No pressure.’"

Asymina confirmed that Meghan was "just super friendly,” and said "she and Harry seemed really happy—like a happy newly married couple. I wish baby Archie had been there! I hope they’re enjoying their stay on Vancouver Island.”

This story is the cutest, guess I better start hiking.
