They are such newlyweds! Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stepped out for their first official royal engagement as husband and wife three days after their wedding on Tuesday, May 22, giving the public a sweet glimpse into their new marriage.

A glowing Duchess of Sussex looked garden party appropriate in a sleeved white dress with a matching hat for Prince Charles’ 70th birthday, where she was photographed laughing alongside her new in-laws, the Duke of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall.

The reason, it turns out, was all due to Prince Harry during his speech at the event. While delivering his words at the podium while his proud family and new wife looked on, Harry suddenly interrupted his sentence and said, “Sorry. That bee really got me.”

The admission prompted laughter from the crowd and Markle, who covered her mouth with her hand, looked down and giggled to herself. Charles and Camila then leaned over to Markle to ask what had just happened, and she affectionately explained the incident to her father-in-law and the Duchess. The trio giggled together as Harry finished his speech honoring his father.

“So paw, while I know that you’ve asked that today not be about you, you must forgive me if I don’t listen to you,” he concluded. “Much like when I was younger.”
