Meghan Markle’s Gifts For Her Junior Bridesmaids Were Personalized and Very Thoughtful

Meghan Markle wanted to make sure every woman who supported her on her wedding day knew her heartfelt appreciation—regardless of age. As such, the new Duchess of Sussex gifted her five young bridesmaids (ages ranging between 3 and 7) with the perfect, thoughtful gift: personalized shoes.

The five tots, which included Prince William and Kate Middleton’s daughter Charlotte, 3, wore matching white Givenchy dresses and white leather Aquazurra shoes made just for them, with monograms of each of the bridesmaids’ initials and the wedding date embroidered on the front.

Additionally, Markle commissioned Lisette Polny, the founder of California-based jewelry brand Zofia Day, to create two bespoke necklaces for her good friend Benita Litt’s daughters ( they were also bridesmaids in the ceremony). “I have always wanted to create a petite line, and my daughter loves to wear my designs,” Polny told People. “So I decided to make Benita’s girls some special pieces for their special day.”

The bridesmaids were also given flower crowns that Harry, 33, and Markle specifically selected for them.

And though she didn’t have any adult bridesmaids in her bridal party, Markle, 36, also wanted to make sure that her best gal pals didn’t feel left out. She asked Polny to create seven more custom-made pieces for her six closest friends and sister-in-law Middleton. The solid yellow gold disc bracelets, which Polny aptly dubbed the Kensington Bracelet, are now available for purchase for $450, though they’re likely to be out of stock soon.

“It’s an overwhelming honor to be part of history and for my pieces to be given as a keepsake for this momentous occasion,” Polny said.

This isn’t the first time that Markle has given a sweet shoutout to the jewelry brand. Earlier this year, she donned a pair of the Dash Ear Studs (retail $600) for her Vanity Fair cover shoot, and a Bar Stack Ring ($715) that she flashed before a media interview with her then-husband-to-be.

“I believe in pieces that are timeless and can work into everyday life,” she said at the time. “I also always think of the different seasons of fashion and personal changes. I want my clients to be able to incorporate their pieces in their everyday wear no matter what it is.”
