Meghan Markle Ended Marriage #1 in the Coldest Way
Today in The Internet Uncovers Meghan Markle's Past in a Thirsty Search for Drama, new information has come to light about the former Suits star's first marriage. More specifically, how she ended it.
According to royal biographer Andrew Morton's new bookMeghan, A Hollywood Princess, Meghan left her husband Trevor Engelson completely out of the blue-as in he had no idea it was coming.
The star allegedly broke the news in 2013 after two years of marriage. "Trevor went from cherishing Meghan to, as one friend observed, 'feeling like he was a piece of something stuck to the bottom of her shoe,'" Morton writes. "A wealthy entrepreneur friend claimed the marriage ended so abruptly that Meghan sent her wedding and engagement rings back to Trevor by registered post. Another confirmed that the decision to end the marriage was made by Meghan and that it had come 'totally out of the blue.'"
Their marriage allegedly fell apart thanks in part to distance (Meghan spent much of her time filming Suits in Toronto), and in part because Trevor's career wasn't moving at the same pace as Meghan's.
"While she saw her star rising, her husband’s career was treading water," Morton writes. "With no new projects in sight and with Suits on hiatus, Trevor took Meghan on a cycling vacation to Vietnam. It didn’t help that he became sick with food poisoning. Their escape to exotic locales, which once provided a backdrop for their love, only served to highlight the distance between them."
Sounds like things did NOT end well between these two, and apparently Trevor is still pissed. Per Mortan, "even at a distance of five years, he can barely contain his anger."
