When it comes to Meghan Markle, everyone naturally focuses on her relationship with 1) Prince Harry or 2) Kate Middleton. But it turns out Meghan actually has a pretty adorable and unexpected relationship with her stepmother-in-law, the Duchess of Cornwall.

In Vanity Fair's new profile of Prince Charles, a close royal family friend revealed the nature of Meghan and Camilla's super supportive friendship. Per the outlet's source, Meghan and Camilla (who is Prince Harry's stepmother) "clearly really like each other" and their relationship is full of "real warmth and support."

The family friend also added that the Duchess of Cornwall was an important mentor to Meghan Markle when she first joined the royal family, welcoming her with open arms and showing her the ropes when it comes to royal protocol.

The same profile also reveals that the Duchess of Cornwall (and her husband Prince Charles) were early supporters of Prince Harry's marriage to Meghan Markle. A source who attended the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's May wedding told Vanity Fair that Prince Charles "seemed like the settling hand on the whole day." Harry and Meghan even joined Camilla and Charles on a vacation to Castle of Mey in Scotland over the summer (so shortly after their wedding). A friend of Meghan Markle's told Harpers Bazaar that "They stayed for five days and it was Prince Charles hosting them."

So the evil stepmother and in-law stereotype definitely doesn't hold up-at least not in the royal family.
